Many politicians use celebrities and other famous figures to appeal to people, using ethos. Mike Huckabee interviewed Chuck Norris to show how he is even supported by a hugely famous celebrity. Though Chuck Norris does not have a completely goody-good shoes images, he is definitely a person that most voters recognize, therefore, compelling them to vote for a candidate with a support of a familiar person. When Chuck Norris pretends to punch the screen at the end, his name becomes engraved on screen. This has a powerful impact on the voters and engrave the candidate’s name in their minds. Testimonial technique effectively uses the familiar and popular image of famous figures to positively portray certain beliefs. Chuck Norris is very popular and through having Norris support him, Mike Huckabee also gets the similar sense of publicity.
